The course is dealing with basic concepts of computer networking. The students are introduced in the concepts of basic communication mechanisms and protocols, based on the TCP/IP networking stack. During the course, the operation of each layer is examined (Application, Transport, Network, Data Link), as well as different inter-networking technologies and digital support services. Moreover, the students are introduced to the operation of real networking equipment by solving practical problems, with a hands-on approach using networking testbeds.
