    • Learning Outcomes

    The course focuses on the deployment of technology as an educational tool in the context of lifelong learning practices targeting diverse groups including pre-school education, school education, higher education, professional education, and vocational training. The course analyses traditional and emerging learning methodologies supported by technology including collaborative learning, explorative learning, active learning, mobile learning, problem-based learning, project-based learning, on the job training, and more. Subsequently, the course focuses on how technology, and especially ICT, can be combined with emerging pedagogical methods towards enhancing formal, informal, and non-formal learning practices. Technology is viewed as a learning tool that can be integrated into blended, wider educational activities that span class instruction, ICT deployment projects, and collaboration both in- and outside of the classroom. The course explores diverse technologies that can integrated into learning practices for enhancing educational experiences including game-based learning, community-based learning, mobile devices, simulations and experiments, learning analytics, touch screens, student response systems, and more. Furthermore, the course explores how technology can enhance learning experiences for groups that face specific challenges including individuals with special needs, individuals at risk of social exclusion, early school leavers, NEETs (not in education and not in training), and more. The course further explores how technology can be used for building transversal learning skills including analytical, critical, and entrepreneurial thinking, ability to work in groups and independently, and more. Finally, the course explores good practices related to technology-enhanced learning in the context of research activities.
