Student internships -called practise training- fall under the aegis of the European Union’s “Operational Program for Education and Initial Vocational Training”, one of the Third Community Support Framework’s 24 Operational Programs.
A two-month period of practical experience is required for all students who have completed their third semester of study and typically takes place during the summer (July-August). Students are allowed to work at their internship after the completion of all other degree requirements. The degree is then granted at the conclusion of the internship.
The internship must provide practical experience in any one of the Department’s major areas of specialization: Fundamentals and Applications of Computer Science, Software Engineering and Information Systems, Hardware and Computer Architecture, Signals, Telecommunication and Networks.
The internship may take place at any approved public or private company or organization.
The primary aims of the Internship Program are to offer the students the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills into practice, to enable them to cultivate job contacts prior to entering the workforce, and to receive a realistic view of their career field.
