  • Learning Outcomes

The main themes to be presented are the following

  • Introduction to electrical industrial facilities, choice of drive systems – sizing – calculations – Handbook – differences from domestic premises.
  • Electrical drives sizing via 4M – ADAPT software tool.
  • MV Substations – sizing – calculations – benefits – preservatives – MV electrical panels
  • Power counterbalance – capacitance systems for improving power factor
  • Introduction to building automation systems konnex instabus, building management systems (BMS) – specifications – network topology – machinery – electrical panels – control point for electromechanical installations – builfing energy management via software tools
  • Backup power systems, pairs – UPS – cooperation with supplies of electricity.
  • Introduction to energy analysis on the building sector.
  • Standards and specifications of the spaces required for electrical installations – designing spaces – natural ventilation required
  • Introduction to electrical installations of data/voice systems, fire detection systems
  • Renewable energy resources integration on the building sector – photovoltaics,
  • Selection and sizing of renewable energy resources via software tools – PVSyst – RETSCREEN

Especially for the lab course will be studying the commercial software company 4M, ADAPT NG 15 and FINE NG 9. The sections are as follows

  • Introduction to design H / Y, basic design concepts of building , introduction to AUTOCAD
  • Introduction to software 4M ADAPT – substation ( computing )
  • Introduction to software 4M FINE – substation ( design )
  • Importing data into spreadsheet calculation – basic network elements.
  • Substation sizing and calculations
  • Technical specifications of MV electrical panels – protective mechanisms
  • Libraries program , library, loads , lines , media protection , create new items and entering them into the spreadsheet
  • Design of a substation electrical installation in architectural plans and calculations software
  • Introduction to computer interface designers and software
  • Introduction to PVSyst and RETSCREEN software tools

On completion of the course, participants will be able to

  • design MV electrical installations, performing all necessary calculations
  • design electrical installations with multiple electrical sources (main grid facilities, backup facilities)
  • verify that the electrical machinery positioning complies with the national standards and regulations
  • verify that a MV electrical installation design complies with the Regulations
  • conduct an initial verification of a new electrical installation MV installation
  • conduct an initial inspection of an electrical installation
  • design, verify and inspect electrical installations in compliance with current safety legislation
  • design a building electromechanical installation via an energy and control management system
  • easily utilize 4Μ, ADAPT NG 15 and FINE NG 9 software tools.
  • easily utilize PVSyst, RETSCREEN software tools
