He received his Ph.D. in 2016 from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Patras, where he continued his work as a postdoctoral researcher and adjunct lecturer. He has also worked for several years as an engineer at HEDNO (Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator) and as a scientific consultant at IPTO (Independent Power Transmission Operator). Since 2025, he has served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Thessaly. His research interests include the operation and control of power systems with high penetration of renewable energy sources. He has participated in the following innovative demonstrations within the Greek power system:

  • Installation and operation of a 2MW battery in a wind farm to provide ancillary services to the transmission grid.
  • Installation and operation of 19 PMUs (Phasor Measurement Units) in the Greek transmission system and the development of an advanced Wide Area Monitoring Protection and Control (WAMPAC) system.
  • Installation and operation of a power flow controller (FACTS) in the transmission system to address congestion issues and power oscillations.
  • Installation and operation of a DLR (dynamic line rating system) in the Greek power transmission network.
  • Development of a flexibility study for the Greek transmission system for the period 2020–2025.
