Georgios Dimitriou received a PhD and a MSc degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in October 2000 and May 1994, respectively, and a Diploma of Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, in October 1988. Georgios Dimitriou was a research assistant at the Center for Supercomputing Research and Development of the University of Illinois between August 1989 and December 1999, as well as a teaching assistant at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Illinois in the Fall 1996 semester. He was also a Research Ιntern at Silicon Graphics, Inc., Systems Division, in the summer of 1996. His main interests include computer organization and architecture, focused on microprocessors, multithreading and parallel architectures, and compilers, focused on code optimization and loop and instruction scheduling.
