Structures of the interconnected high voltage power stations of the current power systems. Data transmission and communication infrastructure of smart grids. Monitoring and control requirements for efficient operation of transmission and distribution networks. Smart grid communication methods. Wireless communication: Wi-Fi, WiMax, mobile communication (satellite), Bluetooth, ZigBee. Wired communication: optical fibre, communication via transmission lines (PLC_ Power Line Communications, BPL- Broadband over Power Line).
