Panagiota Tsompanopoulou is Associate Professor in Department of Computer and Communication Engineering of University of Thessaly, Greece. She has been teaching in UoTh since September 2002 and during the fall semester of 2000-2001. Her main research interests are Scientific Computing, Numerical Analysis, Parallel Computing, Agent Computing and Multi-Physics Problem Solving Environments.

She has been Post Doctoral Research Fellow in Simula Research Laboratory ans University of Oslo, Norway and Post Doctoral Research Associate in Department of Computer Sciences, Purdue University USA. She received her MS in Applied Mathematics from University of Crete, Greece in January 1995, her in MS Computer Sciences from Purdue University, USA in May 1999 and her PhD in Numerical Analysis from University of Crete, Greece in July 2000.

Dr Tsompanopoulou has been collaborating in many Greek and European research projects (by EEA Grants) and in research projects USA (by NSF and USA Dep of Energy). She is supervising many Diploma Thesis.
