Dimitris Karaberopoulos holds MSc in Applied Informatics from Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Thessaly, Volos (2017) and a BSc in Electronic Engineering at the Department of Electronic Engineering of the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki (1994).

He had obtained a distinction at a 1986 contest of the Greek Mathematical Society.

He taught in Vocational Institute from 1998 to 2000 in the field of electronics and IT courses.

From 1997 to 2002 he joined Komel S.A. (Volos) working on the domain of industrial automation and high-tech applications. He was involved in SCADA systems, automation-PLCs, industrial electronic instruments, PCBs, programming and also was in charge of training (seminars in industry) on electronics, instrumentation, sensors, measurements, calibration.

At the same time, from 1999 to 2002, he was a shareholder and key member of the newly established technical high-tech applications company FUTEK Ltd. (Thessaloniki).

In 2002 joined the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Thessaly as a software and electronic engineer (ETEP), specialized in electronics, programming, data acquisition systems and in 2019 he became laboratory teaching staff (EDIP) in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Thessaly in the field of analog and digital design Systems.

In 2010-2011 he participated as technical support manager for the Greek participation in the European program «2BeSafe» with other 29 partners from 14 countries working on support, installation and maintenance of electronic measuring equipment.

His research interests include signal measurements from sensors and processing, analysis, logging on a computer, Machine Vision, IMU sensors, digital electronics, electronic design automation (EDA), new technologies in the field of microprocessors and embedded platforms.

He has participated in the technical management of several R&D projects at University of Thessaly and also in conferences on SCADA systems and applications as a collaborator of the company National Instruments.
